3.5 Rooms Apartment (temporary)
We look for someone to take the lease of our 3.5 room apartment from August 4th, 2025. The lease is temporary until February 28th, 2026.
It is located on the 4th floor (no elevator). It is ideally located: a 9 minute walk from Zurich HB and a 3 minute walk from Stauffacher.
The apartment has:
- 1 Living room
- 2 Bedrooms (one larger and one quite small)
- A walk in closet / storage room
- Kitchen with fridge, stove, and a small washing machine
The 50m2 measurement included in the listing is our own estimate. We are not sure the actual year of construction but the date 1916 is written on the entrance to the building. It's certainly been renovated since then but not for a long time!
The apartment is mostly unfurnished, but some furniture will be available to buy (we will provide the full list + photos + prices to interested parties).
The heating furnace is broken, and the landlord will not repair it because this is a temporary apartment which will be renovated after our fixed-term lease ends. Therefore the apartment must be heated with electric heaters (provided by the landlord) and the rent is reduced to the price you see listed (although the electricity bill is correspondingly quite expensive at ~175 chf per month).
There is a small laundry machine in the unit. We will also sell our dehumidifier (75chf, working perfectly). The dehumidifier is necessary to adequately dry clothes in the apartment while avoiding any problems with mold.
Because the lease is temporary, the landlord only provides the minimum level of maintenance, i.e., they will provide maintenance for the electricity service, hot water, and any safety issues (e.g., mold, gas connection), but they will not provide maintenance for appliances. Therefore, if the fridge, stove/oven, or washing machine were to break, it is the tenant's responsibility. However, for the 1 year we have lived here, the fridge, stove/oven, and washing machine have all worked perfectly.
